Evidence first, opinions second.
Monetrix was built on a simple premise: recommendations should be traceable back to the data that produced them. Here's how we got here and what guides the way we work.
Why we started
Monetrix began with a frustration shared across research and advisory work: too many recommendations arrive without a visible trail of reasoning. Figures get quoted, claims get repeated, and the underlying work that produced them is rarely shown.
We set out to build a different kind of practice — one where every conclusion is backed by a documented process, and clients can see the steps, not just the output. That principle has shaped every decision we've made since, from how we structure projects to how we report findings.
- Methods documented before conclusions are drawn
- Findings presented with their supporting evidence
- Process open to review, not locked behind a summary
Make the reasoning as visible as the result
We exist to give professionals a clearer basis for decisions — not by claiming certainty, but by showing the work. A recommendation is only as useful as the evidence a client can inspect behind it.
Transparency
Methods and assumptions are documented alongside the conclusions they support.
Rigor
Findings are checked against the process used to reach them before they're shared.
Accountability
When a method is revised, we say so — and explain why the revision was needed.
The principles behind the practice
Clarity over complexity
We favour explanations that a client can follow and question, rather than conclusions that ask to be taken on faith.
Consistency of process
The same standards apply whether a project is small or significant — our process doesn't flex to fit a preferred outcome.
Willingness to be checked
Work that can't withstand scrutiny isn't finished. We treat review as part of the method, not a final formality.
A team structured around the work, not titles
Monetrix is organised around the stages a piece of work actually goes through, so responsibility for each part of the process is clear.
Research & analysis
The group responsible for gathering source material, testing assumptions, and building the evidence base for a given piece of work.
Review & verification
A separate function that checks findings against method before anything is signed off, so conclusions aren't self-approved.
Client communication
The people who translate findings into something usable — without smoothing over the caveats that matter.
We keep this overview general rather than naming individuals, as team composition changes over time. Specific points of contact are shared directly with clients during engagements.
